Completely misled by the ad pictures

I was led to believe that the fruit and vegetables were going to be bigger in size. These pieces are way smaller than they make them appear and honestly too small for small children to play with. The item pictured is one of the bigger items.

    Great for kids

We had an old set of something similar but this one is great, the kids love it and it seem like it will last for a good amount of time

    Great purchase!

My son absolutely LOVES the fact that the food can be « cut ». He’s had since Christmas and the Velcro has held up pretty good. The only downfall is that I find food EVERYWHERE but what can one expect with 100 pieces lol

    Great product!

It’s hard to find good play food since most brands are super flimsy, this set however is very sturdy and well made. The play money is great for pretend shopping and the « cuttable » food is a fun addition to pretend cooking. My toddler loves it!

Kept my 1 1/2 year old busy

I bought this for my almost 2 year old. She loves pulling the fruit apart and putting it back together. My six year old loves playing restaurant.

    Super cheap

The paint chips off the toys. My grandson apparently is eating the paint because you can see his little teeth marks on each piece. The Velcro is also an issue because not all the pieces are attached sturdy. The Velcro can be a choking hazard IMO. Same with the paint used on each piece, the paint should not be that easy to come off. Now it’s making me wonder what kind of paint or material this is because it easily scrapes off.

Great for short age range, not durable.

Kids grow fast! Keep in mind this kitchen set is for toddlers and is just right for their size. 6-9 years old is pushing it. It’s a great temporary setup for the toddler age that goes by fast, so this can appease them while you save up for a bigger/taller set for when the kids get larger. The Make:It’s a very light plastic and MUST go against a wall, but even then the lightest hit will wobble or whack it over and with unsteady toddlers… good luck. Keep that in mind if you wanna put water in the sink! There aren’t any instructions when putting it together, and there’s lots of stickers, so you have to look at the box it comes in VERY carefully when putting it together so KEEP the box when you get it.It’s cheaply made, it’s a temporary kitchen for a very temporary age range, when putting it together it can be a little confusing, bc on the printed backboard, there’s lots of details you end up covering completely with no way to see them. Perhaps they are using old backboards in an updated more modern designed frame? Or some places in the frame were supposed to be cut away, like in the fridge (which is extremely shallow and can’t hold anything so I’m assuming that was supposed to be cut open space to see the inner fridge on the backboard)?Pros:1) We had used a usual retro kitchen with our first kids and they had trouble transitioning to our smart kitchen, so the fact this setup mimics a modern kitchen is better. Retro is cute, but with this they can pretend to use the same things you do in the same way as kids learn by mimicking, including the modern accessories like a smart tablet for recipes and whatnot.2) Comes with a lot of foodie (utensils included) items. They are not all accurate in depiction, but it’s comprehensible enough for the age range it is for. So it will be really… odd. For example, a dry goods box labeled « Hot Dogs, » gave us quite a confused chuckle. We got them more foodie sets and they still use the one that came with this kitchen set just as much as the others all together.3) Interactive! It makes noise! (takes 3 AA Batteries and a sharp screwdriver- both it does NOT come with). It spurts water! (if the tubing isn’t beat up like ours was, easy to find at any store and cut to size though). There’s a smart tablet! (it comes with chalk!) And there’s even a hanging menu! (we used it as a template and made many different menus as we ease them into cooking with all their kitchen/foodie sets). A clock! And lots of little doors. Not all even I understand are supposed to represent (like which one is the microwave? and is that lower one a dishwasher or just a drawer? whichever they pretend I guess), but they are fun to use.4) Does NOT take up space, and is VERY short! This is only a con if you accidentally got it for older/taller kiddos.5) This thing is played with every single day since we got it!Cons:1) Not sturdy at all. I wish they had an option where you can, like, stick it to the wall by sticky pads or even a screw-in option. But it’s made in such a way that’s so bare bones, that’s practically impossible without physically altering the frame. We haven’t had a lot of trouble with the kids actually knocking it over much, it’s more if it gets hit with a ball, stuffed toy, a cat rubbing against it, a dog tail whacking it, or when we adults even SLIGHTLY bump into it, WHAMP it all comes down and throws everything on it everywhere.2) You may get a warped and crimped tube for the sink like we did. Also even if you have a good one, expect leaks, if not water everywhere from them splashing it. (we don’t water the sink anymore as much as they beg >_> )3) Noise may be annoying, but you can just leave/take out the batteries. To get to and from the battery case, it’s best to just take the entire top off by the way. Once that stove is in it is IN and it will NOT want to come out.4) Definitely takes time to put together. There’s no instructions so a lot of it is just looking at the box and working out what you can’t see.5) Not too great as a super temporary thing, basically built to only last the short toddler years and then be thrown away. But it’s played with everyday, and if it’s still (mostly) together when they outgrow it, you can just give it to a family with toddlers it’s size.Tips:1) Sandpaper the doors! This thing is NOT sturdy and just opening or closing a door will topple this thing because all the doors have these sort of « bumped latch » that helps them close. And by gosh are the doors hard to open AND close when you get it. Sand them just enough where opening and closing is smooth, a nail file will do in a pinch.2) The sticky velcro is for the smart tablet by the way. Again, no instructions, you just gotta figure it out. So if you got lost there, that’s what it’s for.

Nice for a toddler beginner kitchen

Small, so easy to fit in a small space. Cute shelves and a cute little menu. Comes with some food items, plates, and cutlery. The feature my son loves the most is the burners that light up, make noise, and “steam”. The sink is also functional and he loves that

    2 year old loves it

The fruits and vegetables are good sizes for my 2 year old to handle. The cutting board is pretty small so he doesn’t use it. The plastic knifes could be sturdier as one has already bent. The soaps and condiments are also very small compared to the others but he uses them. The basket it came with works well to hold all the toys inside and keep them together so that is a plus.

    Kid approved

Our daughter is obsessed. This is a great set. Really similar to what I had as a kid! We’ve only had it since Christmas and some of the Velcro stickers have already come off which is really my only complaint. There’s too many pieces to figure out which one it went with but my daughter could care less and she still plays with them!

Grandsons ages 4, 2 and 2 (twins) loved it

The grandsons loved playing with, pretend cutting the velcroed pieces and serving them to us all weekend. It kept them occupied for quite a while. One of the twins fell in love with the banana and had to take it home when they left. It became a pretend telephone for him.

Every time my 2 year old daughter opens a door, the whole unit moves. I didnt realize it would be so unsturdy. I put a small sand bag in the oven to hold it still. Unit is cute.

    Cheaply made, flimsy

3 y/o granddaughter likes it. Expected more for the price. The top door on sink side sticks and has to be pried open with a knife. Flimsy, wobbly and must be up against the wall to stay upright. Wouldn’t buy again.

    Good quality set!

Gave this to my son for his 2nd birthday. He is loving it and feels successful when he can pull apart the foods. They are not flimsy pieces by thick quality plastic. Yes I’ll be cleaning up his little kitchen as well as my own but he has spent a lot of time playing with this set in just the last 2 days! One con is that he’s a toddler and still puts everything in his mouth. I have to watch him with some of the food halves. Okay second con is the egg. It’s plastic egg (not the fried egg)… It doesn’t separate. It’s a thin plastic that he immediately put in his mouth and fills up his whole mouth. It’s going in the garbage now. Other than that 1 item of the 101 pieces I think it’s wonderful!
